How this board was scored
S means the tool solves a hard problem other tools do not: the Tommy Gun's burst, the Spear's safe reach, and the Giant Potion's map pressure. Lower tiers are still worth using. A free Bat is the right weapon at level 0. Shop prices and level locks are the reason a strong weapon is not always the next craft.
S tier
Player decision Bring it to a Giant or a stacked doorway. Skip it if you are below level 10 or the vault is camped.
Player decision Buy it at 3,000 coins when you farm or poke Smilers who stand in white light.
A tier
Player decision First shop buy at 1,000 coins if you die because Smilers are faster than you, especially in Elimination.
Player decision Carry one whenever you walk stages alone. Do not rely on it against Iron, Endangered, or a Giant.
Player decision Hold it when someone on the server has a Giant Potion. Four throws go quickly if you miss.
Player decision Use it before a Smiler reaches you, or while grabbed. It will not stop a sprint by itself.
B tier
Player decision Your weapon for the first lives and a badge piece. Replace it when you can afford speed or reach.
Player decision Always take it with the Bat. The ragdoll is how you finish a stun or save a grabbed friend.
Player decision Buy it only on servers where infected players clump. One duel does not pay the price back.
Player decision Use the stun to start a combo, then swap. A bad weapon if you are the one being chased.
C tier
Player decision Save it for a grab. Spending all three on distant pellets leaves you with nothing.
Player decision Use the first stun. It is an event unlock, not a coin upgrade, and it is not on the badge list.
Player decision Pick it up when you are already in a brawl. Do not cross the map for it.
Player decision A backup if your primary broke. The rusty version is worse and sometimes flings.
